Street Art

How the City Speaks Through Art

This is an unknown artist from Jackson Square. There were several people doing these "statue" types poses. Some better and more original than others. They do these poses for several minutes, even longer.Like the man below, imagine holding that pose for 30 minutes! Another posed as if he was ready to throw a football in a wide stance.

The Art of Jackson Square
Jackson Square is the center hub for most street vendor artists.  Each have their own techniques, some painters, scientists, photographers, sculptors, etc.  Each of these artists has a story behind each and every one of their art pieces.  Around Jackson Square, one will notice the iron fencing is covered with art that they artist is trying to sell. One can get lured by the vibrant colors and interesting techniques the artists take to individualize themselves and have the upper hand on the other artists.  Jackson Square does have artists come during the week, however the weekend days are the days that most artists are out and about competing for the peoples attention.
The actual street art is what I want to see. The artist lining the fences painting what-ever. Spontaneous and colorful. To be able to see them while they paint, like Bob Ross. They can also turn out a nice painting in a short time. Awesome.
