Street Art
Street Performers
Another type of street art. These two walk around taking pictures with tourist and they do look and act the part. Even down to speaking like pirates.
Above is Dayanna Jordan, a local artist in the square. She makes unique pieces that are a mix of paint, sculpture and baked on color. The piece below is one I bought from her.
Heather Pettersen
Their is not much information about Heather Petersen online, but this is a post from her blog. "Hello. My name is Heather Pettersen and I am an artist. What is an artist? It is someone who instead of wearing a suit and going to an office everyday goes to a studio and produces art. Being an artist is kind of a divine calling - something one cannot ignore because the need to create is greater than the need for a 401K, proper health insurance, and reliable income. I know that I am doing what God created me to do and even though it is full of struggles, it is an incredible journey of faith and I am grateful He made me an artist."
Julie Silvers
Julie Silvers, abstract painter and sculptor, finds inspiration for her unique eye in the things that surround her everyday – Architectural forms, nature, natural light, the works of other artists, and the love of her family. These layers of her life are reflected in the layered and textured approach that she brings to all of her works. Silvers paints and sculpts ceramics from her heart and her imagination, not from photos or models. While she loves to use recurring colors and symbols no two pieces are the same.
Reggie Ford
In the first year of his professional art career, Ford’s popularity grew exponentially as he was featured in many newspaper and magazine articles, and made numerous TV appearances. His credits include painting live at the Coca Cola, McDonald’s, and Cisco national conventions, to name a few. Ford was also chosen to paint an ornament for the White House Christmas tree where he and other artists were honored at a White House Christmas party.
